Here are some of my charater bios. the finished ones anyway.

Calipse
Age: 24
Magic: Shadow magic. and some earth magic too.
Relatives: Calipse has a younger sister Zuni who he loves very dearly. his mother's name is Matilda.
Employment: None.
Crush: Aqua, The only person who would play with him when he was younger. but she moved away so Calipse doesn't recognize her. he's constantly looking for her.
Likes: Calipse likes his sister, food particularly sourdough bread, sucking magical energy, practical jokes, forests, and fireplaces.
Dislikes: Calipse dislikes Leo, Aqua or Zuni being threatened, stupid or rich snooty people.
Fears: something happening to zuni or aqua
Personality: Calipse is rough character. He has a sharp tongue and he loves picking fun at people especially if they irritate him. But if you can get past that Calipse can be incredibly sweet and caring if not a little overprotective. He would do just about anything for the people he loves. However calipse is still a very dangerous mage being one of the ones that will just suck the life out of random people without thinking twice about it.
Clothes Style: Calipse’s robe has jagged green edges when he’s not wearing the robe he has on a old coat he really likes and a short sleeve two striped shirt under that with a pair of faded jeans.
Shoes: some old shoes. they fit fine but he can’t really remember when he got them.
Earrings: Calipse has a pair of orange earrings. He thinks there nifty and they’re supposed to boost earth magic apparently.
Scars: calipse has random scars all down his back and his upper arms from his mother. She used to throw various things at him
Other: Calipse has an addiction to large magical energy and if there’s a lot of it in the air he’ll home in on the source really quickly. His addiction has led to him gaining the strange ability to smell out the remains of spells and curses and tell where or who there from. it's an underdeveloped ability but useful none the less.

Leonardo(Leo)
Age: 25
Magic: Shadow magic. He's also mastered various other types of magic.
Relatives: Leo came from a rich family. Thus he was passed off as an albino and didn';t even know he was a shadow mage for sometime. His parents were never home but he was always surrounded by servants. When he became an adult he happened upon a little boy in an alleyway scrounging around in a trash can and somehow ended up taking him home. He named the child Ruka and became his foster father. Ruka means a lot to him.
Employment: he’s the head of several big companies and organizations.
Crush: Claire. Leo likes Claire, but it takes him awhile to notice she likes him too.
Likes: Leo likes Old ruins and old broken buildings, dancing(waltz and the like), rain, giving money away, cooking, and fantasy novels.
Dislikes: Leo dislikes Calipse’s attitude towards him, his companies doing things behind his back, Accepting money, seeing beautiful things die from construction.
Fears: other people suffering because of him, Ruka getting hurt in anyway.
Personality: Leo is a mellow person, but he is firm in his beliefs and notions. he has a pleasant polite demeanor from the way he was raised. he’s kind, and caring and he always puts others first
Clothes Style: his shadow robe has blue tips because that’s his favorite color. When he doesn’t have the robe on he’s usually in a simple suit and he carries around an umbrella which can be used as a makeshift wand or weapon as well as a device for blocking out the rain.
Shoes: shiny black fancy shoes.
Red eyes: thought the eyes themselves don’t do anything special many of Leo’s associates and employees fear the pupil-less red eyes because they look scary. Even more so when Leo’s angry.
Scar: Leo’s got a spiral scar on his right shoulder from an incident with Ruka. He was trying to calm a fevered and sick Ruka down. The boy freaked out and the room exploded sending Leo to the hospital. Ruka was so terrified and emotionally scarred by the whole ordeal that when Leo could finally see him again he had become an emotionless doll.
Other: Leo’s got a business oriented side of him too and he’s REALLY good with financial stuff.

Ruka
Age: 9
Magic: Shadow magic. Also knows whatever Puff knows.
Relatives: Leo is his adopted father. Ruka has shut his mind out of everything before Leo.(witch is good cuz it was not pretty) some things can shake some of those locked up memories loose though.
Employment: He’s Puff’s shadow. That’s all.
Crush: Myra eventually. It takes him awhile since he’s actually scared of her at first.
Likes: Ruka Likes music, animals and to be useful to Puff.
Dislikes: Ruka dislikes people close to him getting hurt or becoming unhappy, his left eye.
Fears: the dark, alleyways, being alone, crowds, sharp jagged things, His own power.
Personality: due to an ‘incident’ he’s locked himself up emotionally. Ruka feels very strongly though that shows though no matter what he does. Since his feelings can literally hurt others he’s very careful with what he does and will often sink into this blank emotionless doll if he feels he’s got too much emotion. He frees himself up more around people he trusts, and has a loose mellow attitude. Ruka has very low self esteem from being belittled from an early age. He almost never makes any decisions himself and thus fallows Puff’s decisions. Puff can talk Ruka into doing almost anything. He has an explosive anger from keeping everything inside for so long, and if something triggers it he goes on a rampage he can’t really control. This almost never happens though as it’s very hard to make ruka angry in the first place Overall he’s incredibly shy and he doesn’t trust people easily.
Clothes Style: his shadow robe and Leo’s old hat. Ruka adores that hat and almost never takes it off.
Shoes: none. His feet are wrapped in shadows so he glides.
Eye: Ruka’s left eye is actually a dragon god’s eye. Thus it has immense magical power but since the other right eye isn’t present, the eye is unstable and reacts entirely to Ruka’s emotions, lashing out at things that upset the boy as a defense mechanism. Ruka can’t control it so it terrifies him.
Heritage: Ruka is actually the third reincarnation of Ruin who is considered the god of shadow mages. Ruka does not know any of this
Black Goo: Since Ruka’s energy unlike Puff’s is unstable and halved, the eye is constantly trying to output dark energy. Ruka’s blocked it up though and eventually it reaches a point where it gets expelled in other manners. the eye starts bleeding dark energy to remove all the excess. This black goo is a mass of highly concentrated shadow energy and can actually be dangerous if not handled properly
Other: Ruka and Puff’s bond is a bit flawed. The two can’t be too far from each other or both of them will start to feel the strain. And whatever damages Puff receives, Ruka does too.

Wikk
Age: ???
Magic: He can manipulate the Ice heart. Usually into giant ice scythes.
Relatives: None. Lives with Milly and Myra though.
Employment: not really. he’s a zombie.
Crush: Milly since she’s the first person to ever give him kindness. He usually trails after her like an affectionate undead puppy.
Likes: Wikk Likes Flowers, soft things, hugs, affection, Milly, and Myra.
Dislikes: Wikk dislikes Swords, sharp things, loud noises, losing limbs, getting his cloak torn any more than it already has been, upsetting Myra or Milly.
Fears: that man with the sword and the dark eyes who stabbed him in the chest.
Personality: Wikk is very VERY innocent and naive. He’s curious and pokes around everything. He’s also incredibly resourceful and is quick to learn little techniques like sewing. but he’s been hurt before and that made him develop a tendency to lash out at things that harm him. He tries very hard to make Milly and Myra happy.
Clothes Style: his shadow robe. It’s taken quite a beating over the years. He’s made all the repairs himself. the collar is actually Vine’s old sash stitched to the robe.
Shoes: none.
Eye: Wikk has the remnants of Roka’s original dragon god eye. But it’s dead and has no power in it just hints of his memories.
Markings: Roka was killed almost instantly by a full body curse preformed by Smoke unintentionally. Since the curse was never repeated no one knows how he did it. But it is the only foolproof way to kill a shadow mage.
Other: Wikk has spent some time with Leo and in which he learned to talk. However his speech is very limited and talking itself is very hard for him so his speech comes out broken much like a two year olds. A lot of natural things most people know about are beyond him and it takes him awhile to get the concept.

Ruin
Age: he looks about 17. He’s actually much much older. that’s all your gonna know
Magic: Shadow magic he’s the first to use the soul sucking thing. He did some other stuff too. He’s actually very skilled in magic.
Relatives: he had a mother who did love him but no one really paid all that much attention to him
Employment: none really but can you blame him?
Crush: Mute. he has the most purest form of love for her imaginable. She becomes his world really.
Likes: Ruin likes Stars, dragons, looking and feeling things, talking, clouds.
Dislikes: Ruin dislikes silence, fate, death, the stake and chain pinning him to the roof
Fears: being alone.
Personality: Ruin’s a bit...out there. He’s off in the head. He loathes silence so much that he will hold imaginary conversations with himself constantly. He gets really into them too. (He’ll actually start arguing with himself) he has an eccentric almost giddy personality and is prone to noticing little details and changes quickly.
Clothes Style: he’s actually wearing what’s left of his clothes. he spent the first year trying to escape and ended up reduced them to rags. he tied what was left of his shirt around his waist to keep his shorts intact.
Shoes: nothing other than a sea green shackle on his left ankle
Eyes: after helping the Dragon god Pitch, Ruin was given a pair of the god’s eyes as a gift. Pitch had warned him that the eyes had a power of there own and to be careful so he kept the eyes hidden from everybody. He loves Seeing though and revels in it.
Blindness: Ruin was born blind and spent most of his early life like that so he has heightened hearing. if he puts his ear to the roof of the temple he can tell where Mute is and what she’s doing to an extent.
Trauma: Ruin’s got a couple of lasting issues from when he snapped. But he’s not affected by much of it because he just drives it out of his mind. After Mute comes into his life he becomes slightly obsessed with physical contact. He needs it like a drug but he hides it very well and is surprisingly really self controlled in his situation.
Other: Ruin’s running off of the massive energy he stole and it turned him into an almost ageless being. It’s not a bottomless reservoir though and As soon as he runs out of life energy he’ll die.

Riko
Age: well I don’t know. It’s one of lives great mysteries
Magic: Shadow magic he’s one of the true masters of the art of shadow manipulation.
Relatives: he has a younger twin brother, deceased
Employment: resident psychopath. Every town needs one.
Crush: Chole. It’s a gradual thing he doesn’t even realize it at first.
Likes: Riko likes Lila, new strange things that capture his attention, Music, and sweets. He also has a fondness for messing with other people’s heads.
Dislikes: irritating people, Smoke and subsequently Puff, somebody messing with his property.
Fears: dying
Personality: Riko is nuts. Completely insane no strings attached. But by the time you’ve figured that out there not much left of you. Riko can fake his way past almost anything he has been for awhile he’s almost never actually acting like his true self as a result having hidden it behind so much lies you’d have to really work at peeling off the layers he’s built up and the masks he’s made.
Clothes Style: he has this sort of costume spin off of a shadow robe and it works like one it’s black and bright blue
Shoes: solid black shoes
Eye: Riko has one of the dragon god’s eyes, the eyes were spilt between the twins Riko and Roka when Roka died Riko remained and the eye started losing stability and started reacting to Riko’s emotions rather than his mind. Riko just lets the energy flow so when he starts getting irritated things start breaking.
Lila: Lila is a songbird with no voice and is Riko’s only consent companion. she’s ben around almost as long as he has. Riko saved her from a tragic death by bonding his soul to hers. as a result Lila retained Riko’s lifeline so if he dies, she will too. She’s surprisingly jealous of females getting too close to Riko, but she loves Chole.
Devexian: Riko cast the curse that plages Myra as a little experiment on emotions. He created a condition that intentionally lets Myra’s inner emotions loose. He Knows exactly what she’s doing though so he’ll pull her back before she actually kills anyone. He monitors her very closely so there isn’t much about Myra he doesn’t know.
Other: Riko tends to give nicknames to the people he likes. It’s an odd habit of his. If he doesn’t like you he won’t use you name at all.

Shade
Age: 86
Magic: He’s actually mastered most forms of shadow magic. He’s excellent at most other forms too.
Relatives: shade was abandoned at the steps of the great master Library were he was found by the squad of librarians and they took him in. He was raised by the librarians and by the library itself (it’s got a soul of it’s own)
Employment: Shadow master (and a librarian)
Crush: Meg. He loves Meg a lot but he’s just to shy to tell her. So he’s been dodging her for years.
Likes: Tea, his apprentices, cookies, books, magic, and children
Dislikes: himself, torn books.
Fears: He’ll never tell Meg how he feels about her.
Personality: growing up shade was the shyest thing on the face of the earth. As he grew he slowly got better but he’s still shy about some subjects. Other than that he’s a very eccentric old man who is not afraid to get himself into his work. he’s a good teacher and Leo, Calipse, and Claire learned a lot from him. He loves children and tends to watch over the ones he finds and helps out.
Clothes Style: he usually sticks to his shadow robe witch has a wide fan collar trimmed with purple and long sleeves when he isn’t wearing that he enjoys wearing turtleneck sweaters and slacks.
Shoes: old loafers
Eyes: Shade has been reading since before he could walk and is very bright. He has read every book in the great library including some ancient texts. When he was four he mastered the ancient spells that caused his eyes to invert. He found another spell to hide his new eyes from the other librarians but it resulted in big black rings around his eyes, But did flip them back to what they originally looked like.
Cane: Shade owns a cane a long twisted thing that he likes to smack into fruit trees to get some fruit without climbing them. This always works for some reason. He’ll also smack his apprentices (the guys) if they get too unruly
Tea: Shade has a HUGE thing for tea. So he always keeps some on him. Calipse thinks he lives off of the stuff
Other: Despite being over eighty he still has all his teeth

Storm
Age: 49
Magic: He’s actually mastered all different kinds of magic but he specializes in electricity type.
Relatives: He has a family but he lives alone…. With Smoke. Whether he wants to or not
Employment: He runs his own farmyard. Grows crops and things. He has a barn but no animals and he does all the work himself
Crush: he had one at one point? When he was young, But it didn’t work out. She loved someone else. And she married that someone else.
Likes: Storm likes his pitchfork, a good meal, his farm, and though he won’t admit it he really likes Smoke.
Dislikes: Storm Dislikes When work doesn’t get done, nasty surprises, and People in general but he HATES random people on his property.
Fears: his relatives. Why do you think he lives out in the middle of nowhere?
Personality: Smoke is a bitter old man. He’s the GIT OFFA ME LAWN type. But behind the bitter old layer he’s a nice guy if not a little gruff. He looks out for Smoke and teaches him things. Even if he seems like he doesn’t he really does care about Smoke. He’s nicer to ladies but generally treats everyone the same.
Clothes Style: he has an overcoat shirt and pants. Also this large wide rimed hat.
Shoes: barefoot. He doesn’t believe in shoes.
Pitchfork: Storm’s had that pitchfork since he was ten years old and he’s used it for many things. when he learned how to use magic it became his wand. He’s very attached to it and it has some really high magical properties.
Accent: Storm has a moderately thick cockney accent.
Resources: Storm is surprisingly well informed about things despite being something of a hermit. Smoke will forever wonder how he knows so much yet stays so secluded.
Other: Storm loves kids even if he doesn’t have any. He treats Puff much like a grandson and gets hit hard by his sudden disappearance, but not nearly as hard as Smoke.

Roka
Age: (at time of death) about ten
Magic: shadow magic
Relatives: he has an older twin brother, Riko. There very close
Employment:none
Crush: none
Likes: Riko, cooking, wide open fields.
Dislikes: being separated from Riko
Fears: Riko getting hurt.
Personality: Roka is the younger of the two twins and is more accepting of people than his bother often trying to curb things before they get out of hand. Riko listens to him as a voice or reason. Roka will jump in sacrifice himself for Riko without giving it a second thought. He has a gentle kind nature that allows him to be forgiving whatever the situation. He never gets angry.
Clothes Style: he has this sort of costume spin off of a shadow robe and it works like one it’s black and red
Shoes: solid black shoes
Eye: Roka has the left Dragon god eye that originally belonged to Ruin. The eyes were split between the twins.
Curse: Roka took the curse that Smoke had tried to use on Riko when he did the curse took him instead of the target and Riko got a glance off. the resounding Curse was fatal and ended up killing him. Smoke told the village that he had killed both of the brothers to try to preserve Riko’s life and then promptly left. Riko came down the next day wile everyone was having the festival for their deaths and ended up killing the entire village. He Preserved Roka’s body and then fled.

Smoke
Age: 28
Magic: star based magic. can use all types and is very, very good at it. He’s invented a lot of spells
Relatives: his mother and father were simple country folk. he loves them very dearly but moved out to make something of himself. He ended up finding storm and fallowing him around until the old man finally gave in and started teaching the boy magic. The two are surprisingly close despite the age difference.
Employment: Traveler
Crush: Aera. After the accident with the twins he happens upon one of her shows and becomes absolutely smitten with her.
Likes: Smoke likes magic, food particularly soups and stews, helping people, the outdoors, spending long lazy days with the people he loves and discovering new interesting things
Dislikes: Smoke dislikes Storm’s pitchfork sometimes, getting lost.
Fears: losing the people most dear to him.
Personality: Smoke’s... eccentric. he’s the oddball that can worm his way into anybody’s heart. he gets into more trouble than he’s worth sometimes but he’s got a heart of gold and he wears it on his sleeve. He’s very open about his feelings.
Clothes Style: smoke wears the hat that his father gave him and a charmed collar his mother gave him. He also wears a coat and shorts.
Shoes: nothing
Magic power: Smoke’s magic is of an incredibly high level that’s on par with ancient royal artifacts.
Collar: this was a gift from his mother. When he was about four he fell off a cliff accidently. his mother used her magic to infuse a powerful protection charm on the collar then made sure smoke wore it for the rest of the time he was in her household. He almost never takes it off anymore because he’s so used to it being there.
Moon: Smoke actually succeeded in creating a third moon. When he went to show Storm what he had created he tripped and it went sailing up into the sky. Since then there has been three moons in the sky.
Other: Smoke gets hit hard when he’s separated from his wife so he ends up pouring the rest of his love into his son. When Puff disappears too, he ends up crumbling.

Sparka
Age: 44
Magic: Shadow magic. She’s also got some water magic and some electric magic
Relatives: she was married but is now a widow. She lives with her biological son Tolkin and other young shadow mages that she took in and treats like family Zuni, Lief, and Erica
Employment: she dyes hair and can also style it. She’s the best around.
Crush: She loved a man and married him but when she had tolkin he ran away. She liked Wissen when they were learning magic together but she hasn’t seen him in years
Likes: the children she’s looking after, her job, chick flicks
Dislikes: cooking, door to door salesman
Fears: Tolkin or the others getting hurt
Personality: Sparka is caring and usually tries to keep close taps on her children. She’s also a tease and loves to pick on people she knows well but people always got to her for advice on things. she tries to keep her shadow mages and her costumers separate for the most part and is a little worried about Tolkin’s new friend Grave. She’s very scary when angry and most of the people in the house are downright scared of her. She’s also a bit of a gossip with her customers. though she may seem overrun with kids sometimes she know what she’s doing.
Clothes Style: usually a sweater and a skirt with a pair of pants under that she ties her hair back with a green ribbon
Shoes: whatever shoes she finds of hers lying around
Cleanliness: she habitually cleans the house. It’s just how she does things
Zuni: the only reason Zuni is still living at sparka’s house is because that she refuses to turn her over to Calipse until he has a proper job and a place to live. He has neither.
Other: she’s taken careful care with dyeing her hair. She uses the same dye that Tolkin got hit on the head with.

Tolkin
Age: 15
Magic: Shadow magic. He can also manipulate most forms of paint and dye.
Relatives: Sparka is his biological mother. His father ran off scared when she had a shadow child. Sparka doesn’t resent him for this though. It just makes her sad to think about it. Tolkin doesn’t know him at all.
Employment: he’s a bit of a freelance artist. He’s actually sold some stuff. all happy sunny pictures
Crush: Mikka. He is head over heels for her. and even though her fanboy scares him, his love for her never wavers.
Likes: Tolkin likes rainbows, bright sunny places, happy symbols, relaxing, bright happy colors, cute fluffy things, paint, drawing interesting things.
Dislikes: Tolkin dislikes the dark, the color black, spooky places, people chasing him, and Making his mother angry.
Fears: Mikka’s fanboy Ray. And his mother. And Leif sometimes.
Personality: Tolkin’s a happy guy. He’s honest and he always speaks his mind.(though this might not be the best attribute at times as it’s landed him in a lot of trouble) he’s also a klutz and he’s almost always accidentally hurting himself someway. more so if he’s in a rush. he is spooked rather easily, especially when he’s focused in working on something.
Clothes Style: Tolkin never wears anything black other than his shadow robe. He likes used clothes in bright colors.
Shoes: old worn sneakers.
Ear: Tolkin’s ear is permanently green. This is because when he was little he was trying to reach a bucket of his mother’s permanent green dye and it fell on top of him knocking him out and spilling it open everywhere. he lay unconscious there for about half an hour with his ear lying in the bucket of dye. So it’s changed the color composition of his fur. It actually grows in green now.
Dye: actually though, his skin all down the left side of his face to his shoulder is green. it gives an off color tinge to his fur if you look carefully enough. He’s got an Imprint in his shoulder of a magic symbol casting that was on the chest he was unconscious on.
Other: the symbol imprint actually ended up affecting his magic usage, Causing him to gain the ability to manipulate paint. Tolkin also developed the first rainbow paint, something he’s very proud of.
